mock pedi additional

photos of the pedicure i did on francine.
i requested her to take photos to keep as record and vice versa.

the french, like i said, was a goner. lol!
the big toe shows absolutely no sign of the required smile line. )':

*both feet*

*left toes red with the nail art*
done with approved OPI's O'Hare & Nails Look Great

*right toes with french and nail art*
see what i mean? sigh!
done with pink base from school (starting to love this colour) and alphine snow from OPI.

anyway, francine was nice enough to take off the ugly french and go red on her right toes.
thanks for the encouragement! (:
it meant a lot!

mock pedicure

we had the mock practical exam yesterday on pedicure.
since pedicure is not examinable (well, officially),
we had to complete one lesson in class and this will constitute 10 marks for the manicure cert.

my french still needs tons of polishing (literally, pun intended) up. ):
but one tiny thing that i'm very happy about,
i managed to finish everything within the stipulated 60 mins.
(but it could be that we have not much cuticles to push. :p)
at least something to salvage the depression my french is causing me.
PLUS!
me and my permanent partner got praised (just a tinee whinee bit)
that our self practice sessions paid off!

***
my polishes collection is slowly growing. (((((:
i don't know why,
but i always have this addiction to stare at the opis on the websites,
google for swatches etc.
but the sensible side of me always stop myself in time before placing any orders.
now i have a reason to buy loads! lol!

am loving the pastel colours from opi's hong kong collection.
and i can't resist placing and order for orly's sweet collection.
the colours are all so yummy!

next target: essie (:

approved

here's the approved polishes for usage in examinations.

me and my classmates were looking at the notice board yesterday and in the end,

laziness got the better of us, so i decided to take a photo of it. :p

this is very last minute,

but i think i need to get one of each of the polishes for the mock exam on friday. ):

the polishes that we bought from school is getting thicker.

educator said is cause we kept talking and doing the polishing too slowly,

which accounts for the air getting into the polish bottles and making it sticky.

BUT!

my opis at home don't face the same problem. and i'm sure when i polish my own nails,

i take even longer to do it. :p

my first *unofficial* customer

i did polishing for rachel sometime back after i started my course.

so she's considered as my first "customer". lol!

but the polishing was done before we had the polishing lessons in class. :p

end of classics

edited:
here's me. mosaic-ed and mopping the floor. ):

we'll be ending the classic lessons coming friday. that leaves the class with 2 formal classes before moving on to the next topic. it's actually one more practical session and a practical pedicure exam come friday. ): me and 2 other classmates have agreed to go for another session of self practice tomorrow night.

our last session of manicure proved the fact that practice does make perfect. i finally managed to get a smile line for the french! (: but my single colour was going downhill. ):

and i had to mop the floor last wednesday cause while i was getting up to let the teacher see the colour, my foot stepped into the pail of water for the classmate next to me. after getting tired from doing a pedi, i still had to clean up the mess. what a session.

anyway i look forward to the next course and hopefully there'll be improvement! (:

practical mock test #1

we had the last lesson of the manicure procedure on wednesday and today, despite being good friday, we're having lessons and taking the mock test for the full procedure of manicure.

i can totally predict what i'm going to fail in:

1. polishing (got comments on my polishing skills on the lesson on wed. ): i know being part time is not a good excuse but i really have no time to practice!!) - i am so going to fail in both colours, plus my french is a confirm goner cause i have never manage to achieve any smile line till now. i can't even handle red properly, how to handle french?

2. shaping

the last week was last minute self practice sessions and we had another guy who came in to "enlighten" us on the technique. so some of us are like quite confused over the comments and all. anyway just see what's gonna happen tonight.

i'm embarrassed to say that i'm having the idea of giving up due to the attitude of some people i've met there. ): but i'll try to complete it. it's after all for my own sake.
